Práce se zabývá proměnou Benešova u Prahy z devítitisícového města venkovského charakteru na centrum široké oblasti Podblanicka s téměř dvojnásobným počtem obyvatel. Změna neprobíhala snadno. Obyvatelé, ale i úřady řešili spoustu problémů od nevyhovující dopravní a obchodní sítě po nedostatečnou kapacitu ve školských zařízeních. Během 20 let (70. a 80. léta 20. století) prošel Benešov obrovskou proměnou patrnou již na první pohled. Panelová sídliště rostla na okrajích města i v hustě zastavěných, pro účely stavby asanovaných oblastech. Asanaci neušly ani místní historické památky. Dnešní podoba města je tak do velké míry odrazem patnácti až dvaceti let plánovací a stavební činnosti ve sledovaném období. Jak se měnil Benešov během sledovaného období dvaceti let? Jakou proměnou prošly všechny části města (centrum, okraje města)? Podařilo se nabídnout nově příchozím i starousedlým obyvatelům dostatečné kapacity (bytové, pracovní)? Jak se Benešov vypořádal z hlediska obslužnosti (školství, doprava, byty, obchodní síť) s téměř dvojnásobným počtem obyvatel? Jaký byl každodenní život v přestavovaném Benešově? Na tyto otázky se snaží odpovědět následující studie pomocí práce... The thesis deals with the transformation of Benešov u Prahy from a backward town with nine thousand inhabitants to the centre of Podblanicko area with almost twice as many residents. The change did not come easily. The inhabitants and offices dealt with many problems ranging from inadequate transport and business networks to insufficient capacity in school facilities. Within twenty years (1970s and 1980s), Benešov underwent an immense transformation, which is evident at first sight. Prefabricated housing estates were built on the outskirts of the town and in densely built-up areas that had been redeveloped for building purposes. Not even the monuments escaped this remediation. The present-day appearance of Benešov is largely a reflection of fifteen to twenty years of construction activities in the monitored period. How has Benešov changed over the 20 years of the reporting period? What kind of transformation have all parts of the town undergone (center, peripherals)? Was it possible to offer sufficient capacity (housing, work) to new arrivals and old residents? How did Benešov cope in terms of services (education, transport, apartments, business network) with almost twice the number of inhabitants? How was everyday life in transformed Benešov in this period? This work tries to answer these...
