Sertoliho buňky jsou somatické buňky varlat, které mají funkci v podpoře spermatogeneze, výživě zárodečných buněk, ale také v udržování protizánětlivého prostředí a tvorbě hematotestikulární bariéry ve varlatech. Tyto buňky jsou intenzivně zkoumány pro své imunomodulační vlastnosti, které jsou využitelné v transplantační medicíně či jako terapeutický nástroj v regenerativní medicíně. V návaznosti na předchozí výzkum, ve kterém bylo potvrzeno, že Sertoliho buňky u myši sdílí některé charakteristiky s mezenchymálními kmenovými buňkami a mají multipotentní diferenciační potenciál in vitro, byly provedeny experimenty pro zjištění jejich terapeutických schopností. Sertoliho buňky prokázaly schopnost podpořit zachování motility spermií po navození zánětu varlat a snížit množství imobilních spermií in vivo. Na základě předběžných výsledků mají také schopnost snižovat množství ROS produkovaných testikulárními buňkami postiženými oxidačním stresem in vitro. Klíčová slova: Sertoliho buňky, germinální buňky, neplodnost, oxidační stres, ROS Sertoli cells are somatic cells found in the testes and have a function in supporting spermatogenesis and germ cell nutrition, but also in maintaining an anti-inflammatory environment and forming the blood-testicular barrier in the testes. They are intensively researched for their immunomodulating properties which can be used in transplant medicine or as a therapeutic tool in regenerative medicine. Following previous research confirming that mouse Sertoli cells share some characteristics of mesenchymal stem cells and have multipotent differentiation potential in vitro, experiments were conducted to determine their therapeutic capabilities. Sertoli cells have demonstrated the ability to promote the maintenance of sperm motility during testicular inflammation and reduce the amount of immotile sperm in vivo. Based on preliminary results, they can also reduce the amount of ROS produced by testicular cells affected by oxidative stress in vitro.
