Migranti na dlouhé vzdálenosti podstupují každoročně náročné cesty, aby se vypořádali se sezonalitou prostředí a využili vrcholy dostupnosti sezónních zdrojů. Prostředí, ve kterém se v těchto geograficky odlišných oblastech v rámci ročního cyklu vyskytují, se výrazně liší a nutí je tak vypořádat se s širokým spektrem podmínek. Zkoumáním toho, zda jsou tažní ptáci celoročními specialisty, kteří sledují svou habitatovou niku, nebo generalisty, kteří obývají širší spektrum habitatů, můžeme lépe pochopit jejich ekologii a požadavky na ochranu ve světle globálních změn. Naše znalosti o výběru habitatových nik napříč sezónami však stále zůstávají kusé. Cílem této práce bylo prozkoumat a zhodnotit formou literární rešerše dosavadní poznatky o výběru habitatů tažnými druhy ptáků na hnízdištích a zimovištích. Důraz byl kladen na mechanismy ovlivňující výběr prostředí, včetně geografických a antropogenních vlivů, objasnění ekologických nároků a potenciální specializace tažných ptáků v průběhu ročního cyklu. Současná literatura ukazuje, že tažní ptáci jsou pravděpodobně mnohem méně oportunističtí, než jsme si dosud mysleli, nicméně komplexní analýza dat o využívání habitatů jednotlivými druhy zatím chybí a bylo by vhodné věnovat jí v budoucnu pozornost. Migratory birds undertake challenging journeys over vast distances each year to cope with seasonality in their environment and to exploit peaks in seasonal resources. The environments in which they are found in these geographically distinct regions over the course of the annual cycle vary considerably, forcing them to cope with a wide range of conditions. By examining whether migratory birds are year-round specialists that follow their niche or generalists that inhabit a broader range of habitats, we can better understand their ecology and the conservation implications associated with global change. However, our knowledge of habitat selection across seasons is still limited. This thesis aimed to explore and evaluate, through a literature review, existing knowledge on habitat selection by migratory bird species on breeding and wintering grounds. Emphasis was placed on the mechanisms influencing habitat selection, including geographical and anthropogenic influences, as well as to clarify the ecological requirements and potential specialization of migratory birds during their annual cycle.
