Práce se zabývá sexuální výchovou na základních školách v České republice. V teoretické části velice podrobně popisuje vývoj sexuální výchovy do její aktuální podoby, a to od historických událostí po důležité politické momenty současnosti. Nejsou opomenuty ani vedlejší vlivy aktuálně ovlivňující pohled dětí a dospívajících na sexualitu. V praktické části je představeno výzkumné šetření zjišťující, jakým způsobem je sexuální výchova realizována z hlediska organizace a formy výuky, jejího obsahu a metod, ale také zkoumá postoje pedagogů k informačním zdrojům o sexu, k obsahu sexuální výchovy a reflektuje jejich názor na to, zda by bylo vhodné a možné zavedení sexuální výchovy jako samostatného předmětu. Bylo zjištěno, že sexuální výchova je realizována v souladu s principy holistické sexuální výchovy, ale v některých oblastech výuky je stále určitý prostor ke zlepšení. Pedagogové zastávají názor, že není potřeba samostatného předmětu, ale je důležité nepodporovat tabu, věnovat se dostatečně všem tématům a zajistit hlavně dostatek kvalitních, vzdělaných pedagogů. This thesis deals with sex education in primary schools in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part describes in great detail the development of sex education to its current form, from historical events to important political moments of the present. Side effects currently influencing children's and adolescents' views on sexuality are also not neglected. In the practical part, a research investigation is presented to find out how sex education is implemented in terms of the organization and form of teaching, its content and methods, but also examines the attitudes of educators towards information sources about sex, the content of sex education and reflects their opinion on whether it would be appropriate and possible to introduce sex education as a separate subject. It was found that sex education is implemented in accordance with the principles of holistic sex education, but there is still some potential for improvement in some areas of teaching. Educators are of the opinion that there is no need for a separate subject, but it is important not to support taboos, to pay enough attention to all topics and, above all, to ensure taht there are enough quality, educated teachers.
