Diplomová práce se věnuje návštěvnosti lázní ve Františkových Lázních a v lázních Luhačovice v letech 1850-1950. Cílem práce je porovnání dvou vybraných lázeňských měst z hlediska návštěvnosti lázní z několika úhlů pohledu: geografického, sociálního a genderového, dále jak se návštěvnost ve vybraných lázních lišila a jak se během 100 let proměňovala. Výchozím pramenem pro tuto práci se staly seznamy lázeňských hostů, tzv. kurlisty, na základě kterých byla provedena komparativní analýza návštěvnosti Františkových Lázní i lázní Luhačovice. Bylo zjištěno, že vliv na návštěvnost lázní měl nejenom rozvoj průmyslu a lékařství v 19. století, ale v lázeňské klientele se odrazily také společensko-politické události, především sjednocení Německa, první světová válka, vznik Československé republiky, hospodářská krize, druhá světová válka a politické změny v Československu na konci 40. let 20. století. The aim of the thesis is a comparison of two selected spa towns concerning spa attendance from the point of view of visitor"s gender and geographical and social origin of spa visitors. Furthermore, it surveys the differences in selected spas attendance and how it changed throughout the last 100 years. The basic source of this thesis were the lists of spa visitors, so called "kurlisty", on the base of which a comparative analysis of Františkovy Lázně and Luhačovice spas attendance was performed. It was found out that the attendance of the spas was influenced not only by industrial and medical development in 19th century but also the social and political events reflected in the spas clientele, mainly the Germany unification, the First World War, creation of the Czechoslovak Republic, economic crisis, the Second World War and political changes in Czechoslovakia at the end of 1940s.
