Nejen stárnutí populace, ale také nástrahy současného životního stylu reprezentovaného vysokým kalorickým příjmem a zanedbatelnou fyzickou aktivitou vedou k výraznému nárůstu civilizačních onemocnění, z nichž nejpřednější místa zaujímá obezita, diabetes 2. typu, nebo třeba hypertenze. To vše, nikoli však výlučně, se podílí na nárůstu neurodegenerativních onemocnění, jako je například syndrom demence. Bakalářská práce se zabývá stavem výživy a fyzickou zdatností klientů se syndromem demence v domově se zvláštním režimem (jedním z typů pobytového sociálního zařízení). Cílem práce bylo provést nutriční screening, získat hodnoty složení tělesné hmoty a zhodnotit výživový stav u této skupiny osob. Dalším cílem bylo zhodnocení stavu fyzické zdatnosti a objemu svalové hmoty. Výzkum probíhal počátkem roku 2023 (od ledna do dubna) u klientů pobytového zařízení v Domově Velké Březno u Ústí nad Labem. Do výzkumu byli zařazeni svéprávní klienti s různým stupněm syndromu demence. Výzkumu se zúčastnilo celkem 31 osob, z toho 25 žen a 6 mužů v průměrném věku 79 let. Každý účastník prošel standardizovaným nutričním MNA screeningem, dále mu bylo změřeno složení tělesné hmoty za pomoci přístroje InBody S10, a na závěr proběhl test fyzické zdatnosti tzv. TUG test. Výsledky byly zadány do tabulky programu Microsoft... Not only the ageing population, but also the pitfalls of the current lifestyle represented by high caloric intake and negligible physical activity lead to a significant increase in civilisation diseases, the most prominent of which are obesity, type 2 diabetes and hypertension. All of these, but not exclusively, contribute to the rise in neurodegenerative diseases such as dementia. This bachelor's thesis deals with the nutritional status and physical fitness of clients with dementia syndrome in a residential care home (one of the types of residential social care facility). The aim of the thesis was to perform nutritional screening, obtain body mass composition values and assess the nutritional status of this group of people. Another aim was to assess the physical fitness status and muscle volume. The research was conducted in the beginning of 2023 (from January to April) among the clients of the residential facility in the Home Velké Březno near Ústí nad Labem. Self- managing clients with different degrees of dementia syndrome were included in the research. A total of 31 people participated in the research, 25 women and 6 men with an average age of 79 years.
