Tak jako všechny organismy musí rostliny koordinovat růst a vývoj se svým energetickým statusem. Kromě toho se ale, vzhledem k přisedlému způsobu života, potřebují také velmi dobře přizpůsobovat podmínkám na svém stanovišti. Obranné mechanismy mohou být ale z hlediska vynaložených zdrojů značně náročné, a jejich aktivace má tak často za následek omezení růstu. Ustavování funkční dynamické rovnováhy mezi investicí do růstu a obranných reakcí ("G-D tradeoff") je zásadní pro fitness rostliny, její konkurenceschopnost a úspěšnost reprodukce. Tato práce se zabývá mechanismy, které se zásadním způsobem podílí na tomto vyvažování. Je diskutována evolučně konzervovaná osa řídící růst a vývoj na základě energetického statusu složená z kinázy TOR, pozitivního regulátoru růstu za příznivých podmínek, a jejího antagonisty kinázy SnRK1, která při energetické deprivaci podporuje mobilizaci zdrojů za účelem realizace obranných opatření zajištujících energetickou homeostázi. V práci je pojednáno o rostlinám specifické regulační dráze, která propojuje regulaci osou TOR-SnRK1 s vnímáním podmínek prostředí. Součástí této dráhy jsou také kinázy SnRK2 řídící specifické obranné reakce a dále fosfatázy PP2C a receptory PYL/PYR/RCAR, které aktivitu SnRK kináz modulují. Pochopení regulační sítě koordinující růst a vývoj... Similarly to other organisms, plants must coordinate growth and development with their energetic status. Besides that, considering their sessile way of life, they need to adapt very precisely to the environmental conditions of their habitats. However, from the point of view of invested resources, the defence mechanisms may be very expensive, and so, their activation is usually accompanied by a restriction of growth. Hence, establishing functional dynamic balance between investment to growth and defensive reactions ("G-D tradeoff") is essential for the plants fitness, competitiveness and reproduction success. The thesis examines the mechanisms that are fundamentally contributing to this balancing. In this work, evolutionarily conserved axis coordinating growth and development with energetic status consisting of TOR kinase, positive growth regulator during favourable conditions, and her antagonist, the SnRK kinase, inducer of resources mobilization in purpose of realizing defensive measures securing energetic homeostasis, is discussed. Further, this thesis focuses on plant-specific pathway which links the TOR-SnRK1 axis with perception of environmental conditions.
