disertační práce Život a dílo historika Josefa Polišenského Předkládaná disertační práce je pokusem analyzovat určité kapitoly ze života a vědecké činnosti historika Josefa Polišenského. První část se věnuje analýze dosavadní reflexe jeho osobnosti. Na základě této analýzy se v další části práce věnujeme těm tématům, která byla dosud minimálně reflektována: Dokládáme vliv jeho předchůdců na jeho tvorbu, generační zážitky, vliv marxismu, strukturalismu a snahy ovlivnit historickou metodologii. Zjistili jsme, z čeho pramenil jeho obdiv k Františku Kutnarovi a prozkoumali jsme rivalitu mezi ním a Františkem Grausem. Další část práce je věnována zařazení Josefa Polišenského do tradice studia Bílé hory a španělské občanské války. Z naší práce vyplynulo, že Josefa Polišenského bychom neměli vnímat pouze jako "pozitivistu", ale jako historika, který se snažil promlouvat do metodologických otázek své doby, a to hlavně v padesátých letech, v době vrcholu jeho tvůrčích sil. The abstract of dissertation thesis The Life and Work of Historian Josef Polišenský The presented dissertation thesis is an attempt to analyze certain chapters from the life of the historian Josef Polišenský and his scientific activities. We analyze the existing works and reflextions about his personality in the first part of the thesis. The next part of the thesis is focused on those topics that have been minimally reflected so far: We demonstrate the influence of his scientific predecessors on his work, generational experiences, the influence of Marxism, Structuralism and his efforts to influence historical methodology. We found out the source of his admiration for historian František Kutnar and we explored the rivality between him and his colleague František Graus. The next part of the thesis is devoted to Josef Polišenský's role in the study of White Mountain and the Spanish Civil War. The result of our dissertation thesis is that Josef Polišenský was not only a "positivist", but also a historian who tried to influence methodological approaches especially during the 50's, the time of his essential works.
