V řádovém archivu Provincialátu řádu obutých augustiniánů v Praze byl v rukopise Liber benefactorum Ecclesiae (Národní archiv, fond Augustiniáni obutí – Provincialát a konvent Praha, č. kn. 97) z let 1680 až 1735 nalezen soupis sepulkrálních a nápisových památek v klášterním kostele Nanebevzetí Panny Marie v Domažlicích z roku 1708. Jeho autorem byl augustiniánský historiograf Valentina Weidnera (1658–1736). Soupis obsahuje popis, vyobrazení a komentáře ke 13 památkám, z nichž jsou tři středověkého původu – znakový náhrobník Jana z Rožmitálu (†1430), Racka Rýzmberského z Janovic (†1461) a neznámého muže (15.-16. stol.). Pomocí těchto nově objevených barokních textů lze rekonstruovat nápisy a vzhled dvou nejstarších sepulkrálních památek, kterých torza byla v 80. letech 20. století znovuobjevena v presbytáři klášterního kostela. Příspěvek se zaměřuje rovněž na způsob práce klášterních kronikářů s epigrafickými a heraldickými prameny a také na důvody jejich zájmu o tento druh památek. In the monastic archive of the Provincial Office of the Calced Augustinians in Prague, the manuscript Liber benefactorum Ecclesiae (National Archive, fonds Calced Augustinians, Prague, no. 97) from 1680–1735 revealed a list of sepulchral relics in the monastic Church of the Assumption of the Virgin in Domažlice from 1708. The list was made by the Augustinian historiographer Valentin Weidner (1658–1736) and it includes descriptions and illustrations for 13 monuments of which three date from the Middle Ages – the headstones of Jan of Rožmitál (†1480), Racek Rýzmberský of Janovice (†1461), and an unknown man (15th–16th century). These newly discovered Baroque texts facilitate the reconstruction of inscriptions and the appearance of sepulchral monuments whose fragments were re-discovered in the 1980s. The paper further focuses on the methods of monastic chroniclers used for epigraphy and heraldry sources and also on the reasons behind their interest in this type of monument.
