Diplomová práce "Christianizace Britských ostrovů: komparace vybraných aspektů iroskotské a římské misie" se zabývá obdobím, kdy došlo ke christianizaci Britských ostrovů, a konkrétně se zaměřuje na dějiny iroskotské a římské misie, jejich organizaci, klíčové osobnosti a zvyky. Irské křesťanství se vyvíjelo v prostředí odlišném od toho, jež panovalo na evropské pevnině, a postupem času si tak vybudovalo svá vlastní specifika a mnohé odlišnosti jak v církevní organizaci a celkovém spravování církve, tak v liturgii nebo v církevním umění. Hlavním cílem práce je především komparace aspektů mnišství, církevní organizace a liturgie obou misií a jimi vybudovaných církevních organizací, čímž by autorka chtěla dojít ke stanovení role iroskotské misie při christianizaci Britských ostrovů a vymezení jedinečnosti irského křesťanství. Autorka se dále zaměřuje na vzájemné vztahy obou misií a jejich střetávání, které vyvrcholilo v roce 664 na synodě ve Whitby. Doplňkovým cílem práce je pak analýza vzájemných vztahů iroskotské a římské misie se světskou mocí. The diploma thesis "Christianization of the British Isles: comparison of selected aspects of the Hiberno-Scottish and the Gregorian mission" deals with the period when the Christianization of the British Isles took place and focuses specifically on the history of the Hiberno-Scottish and Gregorian missions, their organization, key figures and customs. Irish Christianity developed in an environment different from the European mainland, and over time it thus gained its own specifics and many differences in both church organization and the overall administration of the church, as well as in liturgy or in church art. The main aim of this thesis is primarily to compare aspects of monasticism, church organization and liturgy of both missions and church organizations built by them, with which the author would like to determine the role of the Hiberno-Scottish mission in Christianization of the British Isles and define the uniqueness of Irish Christianity. The author also focuses on the mutual relations between the two missions and their clash, which culminated in 664 at the Whitby Synod. The complementary aim of the thesis is to analyse the mutual relations of the Hiberno-Scottish and Gregorian missions with secular power.
