Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá životem a prací JUDr. Augusta Adolfa Popelky (1887-1951), právníka a prezidentského úředníka v letech 1919-1945. Část práce věnovaná jeho působení v rámci Kanceláře prezidenta republiky je postavena na základě relativně širokého spektra archivních materiálů z Archivu Kanceláře prezidenta republiky. Pro kapitoly věnované soudnímu procesu, jenž probíhal před tribunálem Národního soudu, a pobytu ve vězení jsou užity podklady z fondu Národní soud, který je uložen v Národním archivu. Pro komplexnější pohled na Popelkův život je věnován prostor i jeho rodinnému zázemí, zejména otci JUDr. Augustovi Popelkovi, předsedovi Nejvyššího soudu, a matce Ludvice Rottové Popelkové, člence činohry Národního divadla. klíčová slova: August Adolf Popelka, Emil Hácha, Kancelář prezidenta republiky, Pražský hrad, Protektorát Čechy a Morava, Národní soud, kolaborace This thesis deals with the life and work of doctor of law, JUDr. August Adolf Popelka (1887- 1951), lawyer and official working for the President of the Czechoslovak Republic in years 1919-1945. Part of this thesis is based on a relatively wide range of archive materials from The Archives of The Office of the President of the Czechoslovak Republic. Documentation relating to the chapter dealing with Popelka's trial before The National Court and with his imprisonment comes from The National Tribunal fund in the National Archives. The thesis also examines the family background of August A.
