Abstract: This thesis explores the lack of success of Latin American integration. It evaluates nine extant Latin American blocs and compares them to four blocs from other regions of the world. It then applies the theories of neofunctionalism, liberal intergovernmentalism, and postfunctionalism to each case to see which theory is best equipped to explain Latin America's integration failure.
