Dizertační práce se zabývá poznáním a rekonstrukcí historické krajiny raného až vrcholného novověku s využitím dosud málo vytěžovaných kartografických pramenů, map panství z 18. a první poloviny 19. století. Hledá odpovědi na otázky, k jakým proměnám krajiny v uvedeném období došlo a dokumentuje je zejména na příkladu poddanských měst v Čechách. Dizertační práce má interdisciplinární charakter. Snaží se přispět k výzkumům historické geografie a tematicky se zařadit do konceptu studia historických krajin (od identifikace a dokumentace k pochopení významů jejích proměn). Využívá však i přístupů historické kartografie, a to při výzkumu, analýze a zpracování dosud opomíjených kartografických pramenů - zdrojů informací o minulosti. Pozornost při studiu historických krajin i dějin měst byla dosud věnována spíše mladšímu období od poloviny 19. století, a to především z důvodu dostupnosti, převážně širších možností zpracování potřebných historických pramenů (topograficky přesnějších starých map a plánů srovnávacího charakteru) a přesnosti jejich výpovědní hodnoty. Starší období do poloviny 19. století byla studována zejména v pracích historiků. V urbánních dějinách se zaměřovala zvláště na formování středověkých (královských) měst, bez ohledu na využití kartografických pramenů. Dizertační práce se proto snaží... The dissertation deals with the knowledge and reconstruction of the historical landscape of the early to the upper modern period using cartographic sources, maps of the estates from the 18th and the first half of the 19th century, which have not been exploited so far. It seeks answers to the questions of what changes occurred in the landscape during this period and documents them, especially on the example of the serfdom towns in Bohemia. The dissertation is interdisciplinary in nature. It tries to contribute to research in historical geography and to fit thematically into the concept of studying historical landscapes (from identification and documentation to understanding the meanings of their transformations). However, it also uses the approaches of historical cartography in the research, analysis and processing of hitherto neglected cartographic sources - sources of information about the past. Attention in the study of historical landscapes and urban history has so far been paid rather to the younger period from the mid-19th century onwards, mainly because of the availability, mostly wider possibilities of processing the necessary historical sources (topographically more accurate old maps and plans of comparative character) and the accuracy of their narrative value.
