Bakalářská práce si klade za cíl zhodnotit postavení učitele v odkazu na ruskou klasickou literaturu. V úvodu seznamuje s kulturně historickými kontexty fungování ruského školství v průběhu 19. století. Hlavní náplní práce je obecně představit a analyzovat problematiku sociálního postavení učitele, jakožto významného tvůrce dětské osobnosti, zejména z románů Těžké sny a Posedlý od Fjodora Sologuba a z povídek A. P. Čechova. Na základě komparace těchto děl a dalších literárních odkazů se snaží potvrdit či vyvrátit domněnku, že na povolání učitele se v ruské literatuře pohlíží jako na jedno z nejdůležitějších povolání, protože jeho úkolem je vychovávat budoucí generaci tak, aby byla prospěšná sobě i společnosti. Práce dochází k závěru, že učitel byl zobrazován převážně negativně, neboť převládal autoritativní přístup k dětem, na denním pořádku byly fyzické tresty často podnícené alkoholismem učitele. My bachelor's dissertation is aimed at evaluating the social status of a teacher's profession referring to Russian classical literature. The introductory part deals with cultural- historical contexts of functioning of Russian education in 19th century. The main content of my work is to introduce and analyse the issue of social status of a teacher as an important creator of children's personality mainly according to the book The little demon by F. Sologub and short stories by A. P. Čechov. Comparing the two mentionened works and other literary references the dissertation is trying to confirm or disprove the hypothesis that the profession of a teacher in Russian literature is seen as one of the most important jobs whose aim is to educate the future generation so that it is profitable for itself and for the society. The thesis concludes that teacher figures were portrayed predominantly in a negative manner. Authoritative attitude towards the children was often intensified by the teacher's alcoholism and resulted in the pupils being physically punished on a daily basis.
