Hlavním tématem této práce je tanec v antické Řecké společnosti, jeho podoby, druhy a vývoj v čase. Diskutována je reflexe na červenofigurové keramice, jsou uvedeny typy tančících figur na attické červenofigurové keramice. Hlavní prostor je věnován přehledu váz s tančícími postavami z dílen ve Velkém Řecku a jejich zasazení do kontextu vývoje červenofigurového malířství na tomto území. Mezi vázami attickými a těmi z Velkého Řecka existují úzké paralely a kde jihoitalskévázové malířství následuje attické motivy nachází jiné zajímavé vyjádření. Vázové malířství nam ukazuje tančící postavy všech druhů, zahrnuje nejvíce tančící mainady, satyry silény, volnou zábavu komastů, akrobatický tanec, tanec v divadle a tanec v kultu. The main theme of this work is dance in the Ancient Greece, its kinds, forms and evolution during the time. The reflektion of the dance on the red-figured vasessis dicussed, first the types of the dancing figures on the Attic red-figured vasvases and second a summary of the scenes with dancing figures descending from Magna Graecia and their position in the production of the red-figured vases on the localities in South Italy and Sicily. The close parallels exitst between the Attic vases and those from Magna Graecia. If theSouth Italian vase painting doesn't follow Attic motives, it finds other interesting expressions. Vase-painting shows dancing figures of all kinds, they include in the mostcases figures associated with DIonysos, loose amusement of komasts, tha acrobatic form of dancing, dancing in the theatre and at the religious occaisons.
