Tato práce se zabývá postavením Křesťansko-demokratické strany Itálie v systému první italské republiky od jejího vzniku až do tzv. historického kompromisu ve druhé polovině 70. let. Křesťanská demokracie hrála zásadní roli v procesu formování nové demokratické republiky. V parlamentních volbách konaných v roce 1948, které byly pro další směřování Itálie klíčové, zvítězila nad Komunistickou stranou Itálie a jejími koaličními partnery, a to i díky své výrazné antikomunistické kampani. Nastalo období centrismu, tedy formování koalic menších středových stran kolem Křesťanské demokracie tak, aby se zabránilo vstupu komunistů do vlád. Tato conventio ad excludendum, vedoucí ke vzniku stejných či podobných koalic a tedy k faktické neexistenci politické alternace, tak měla závažné důsledky pro celý stranický systém první italské republiky, který lze rovněž charakterizovat jako tzv. partitokracii. Práce rozebírá také vnitřní strukturu strany, její jednotlivé proudy a konečně i její vztah k voličům a zejména k regionům tzv. bílé subkultury, v nichž měla Křesťanská demokracie tradičně výraznou podporu. Zabývá se také otázkou, proč došlo k oslabování Křesťanské demokracie, které vedlo k hledání dalších koaličních partnerů, k nahrazení modelu čistě středových vlád modelem středo-levých vlád a nakonec až k tzv.... This bachelor thesis focuses on research of the position of the Christian Democratic Party of Italy in the system of the First Republic of Italy from its origin until the so-called historic compromise in the second half of the 70's of the 20th century. The Christian Democracy played a fundamental role in the process of forming of a new democratic republic. In the parliamentary election of 1948, which were crucial for further evolution of Italy, the Christian Democracy gained victory over the Italian Communist Party and its coalition partners, also thanks to its expressive anticommunist election campaign. Then a period of centrism began, therefore coalitions of smaller centrist parties were formed around the Christian Democracy to prevent the communist's access to governments. This conventio ad excludendum, leading to formation of the same or similar coalitions and so to the actual absence of political alternance, therefore had significant consequences for the whole party system of the First Republic of Italy, which can also be characterised as a particracy (partitocrazia).
