Souvislosti: Skok o tyči lze řadit z hlediska úrazovosti mezi nejčastěji zmiňované atletické disciplíny. V nedávné minulosti byla udělána preventivní opatření, která vedla ke snížení počtu úrazů u skokanů o tyči a další jsou v současnosti diskutována. Cíle: Objasnit nejčastější úrazy a příčiny úrazů u atletů tyčkařů, popsat preventivní opatření, která již byla uskutečněna a upozornit na další možná. Metody: Práce je realizována jako přehledová studie kombinovaná s vlastními poznatky z praxe. K získání relevantních informací byly použity čtyři elektronické databáze EBSCO, ScienceDirect, WoS, PubMed. Závěr: Přestože v průběhu několika posledních let bylo uskutečněno několik podstatných změn vedoucích k větší bezpečnosti, je třeba nadále diskutovat další opatření jako je povinnost nosit helmu či vkládat speciální výstelku do skříňky, aby byla rizika úrazu ve skoku o tyči ještě více omezena. KLÍČOVÁ SLOVA: skok o tyči, atletika, úrazy, příčiny, prevence Backgrounds: Pole vault could be counted among the most frequently mentioned athletic disciplines in terms of injuries. In the recent past there have been done a number of changes of rules which have led to a reduction in the number of accidents. Objectives: The main objective of this study was to identify the most common causes of accidents and injuries in pole vault, to describe preventive measures that have already been carried out and to draw attention to the others which could be possible. Methods: This work provides a systematic review combined with practical experience. Four electronic databases - EBSCO, ScienceDirect, WoS, PubMed were used to obtain the relevant information. Conclusion: Although there have been made several significant changes of rules leading to better safety, it is still necessary to continue the discussion about further measures such as the obligation to wear a helmet or to insert a box padding which could limit the risk of injury in the pole vault even more.
