Bakalářská práce pojednává o tropických terestrických ekosystémech v období mladšího karbonu (pennsylvanu), především se zaměřuje na popis tropického pralesa a jeho složek. Úvodní části této práce se zabývají všeobecnou charakteristikou karbonu, včetně fauny a flóry, rozložení kontinentů a charakteristikou klimatu. Následuje popis jednotlivých složek karbonského tropického lesa, tj. hlavních skupin a rodů rostlin a jejich ekologických nároků. Charakterizována je jak flóra tropických karbonských nížin, tak z výše položených mimo pánevních oblastí, která se obvykle vzácně zachovává ve fosilním záznamu. V další části pojednávám o vývoji karbonského tropického lesa a o příčinách, které vedly ke změnám v jeho složení a případně k vymírání některých jeho složek. Mezi možnými příčinami je největší pozornost věnována klimatickým změnám, které měly velký vliv na vegetaci. V samostatné kapitole popisuji vymírání stromovitých plavuní. Klíčová slova: ekosystém, tropický les, nížiny, klimatické změny This thesis deals with the tropical terrestrial ecosystems of Late Carboniferous (Pennsylvanian) time. It is especially focussed on description of the Carboniferous tropical forest and its components. Introductory parts of the thesis deal with the general characteristics of Carboniferous period, including fauna and flora, distributions of continents and how was the climate of this period. Second part follows the characteristics of particular components of the Carboniferous tropical forest, i.e. of individual plant groups and genera, and their ecological demands. Characterised are plants and their assemblages in tropical lowlands as well as in upland areas, rarely preserved in sedimentary record. In the next part I characterise the dynamics of the forest of Carboniferous tropics and discuss potential mechanisms which controlled the floristic changes including plant extinction. The role of climate changes, which had great influence on vegetation, is discussed as the possible main control. In the separate chapter I describe extinction of arborescent lycopsids.
