Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na dva hlavní cíle. Prvním cílem práce je definovat vlastní metodiku vymezení metropolitních areálů. Na základě této metodiky jsou vymezeny metropolitní areály Prahy, Plzně, Brna a Ostravy. Druhým hlavním cílem práce je nalezení odpovědi na otázku, zda se v transformačním období rozvíjí proces metropolizace či nikoli. Za tímto účelem jsou ve vymezených metropolitních areálech analyzovány konkrétní vývojové tendence. Nejprve je sledován vývoj koncentrace obyvatelstva a pracovních příležitostí, poté následují analýzy zabývající se prostorovou mobilitou obyvatelstva uvnitř areálů. V této souvislosti je sledován vývoj intenzity dojížďkových a migračních proudů mezi různými jednotkami metropolitního areálu. Rostoucí vzájemná intenzita mobility mezi jednotkami metropolitních areálů naznačuje rozvoj kooperačních vazeb v území a také rozvoj procesu metropolizace. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org) The diploma thesis is focused on two main aims. The first aim of the thesis is to define proper metodology for delimitation of the metropolitan areas. On the basis of this metodology the metropolitan area of Prague, Plzeň, Brno and Ostrava are defined. The second main aim of this thesis is answer the question, whether transformation period influences development of process of metropolization or not. With this purpose concrete development tendencies in the delimitation metropolitan areas are analyzed. At first the development of concentration of population and jobs is concerned, after follows the analysis dealing with spatial mobility of the population within areas. In this context is covered development of intensity of commute and migration flows among different units of metropolitan area. The growing in mutual intensity of mobility among units of metropolitan areas indicates the development of cooperative ties in territory and also development of process of metropolization.
