Práce popisuje formou stavebně-historického průzkumu zámek ve Světlé nad Sázavou. Podrobně líčí bohatou historii dochované stavby, charakterizuje exteriér po vnějších i dvorních průčelích včetně zámeckého parku, interiér všech místností napříč všemi čtyřmi podlažími až do úrovně všech dílčích detailů a zejména hodnotné štukové výzdoby. Představuje stavební historii stavby a okolí, definuje umělecké hodnoty zámku v minulosti i současnosti. Poukazuje na hodnotné prvky stavby, stejně jako na necitlivé stavební úpravy ve 20. století. Nedílnou součástí je bohatá fotodokumentace místností a popisovaných detailů, mapové podklady historického i stávajícího stavu.
