Dizertace se zabývá pracemi a životem české spisovatelky Marie Majerové z genderového hlediska. Majerová byla v období po druhé světové válce dobře známou komunistickou autorkou. Není však příliš známá jako feministka a ženská aktivistka. Práce zkoumá ambivalenci její pozice z různých úhlů. Soustředí se především na vztah odporujících si rolí Majerové komunistky a feministky, "fernrne fatale" a "femme nouvelle" a na její poměr k ženským otázkám. Na jednu stranu Majerová chtěla prosazovat člověka nezávislého na pohlaví nebo genderu, na druhou stranu doslova bojovala za ženská práva a možnost ženy vyjádřit se literárně podle sebe. Majerová je příkladem moderní ženy v měnícím se světě první poloviny dvacátého století. Zároveň je však individuálním zjevem se specifickým přístupem k literatuře, politice i životu, který je založen na vůli po zrněně a možnosti ovlivňovat. Dizertační práce se zaměřuje na fikci, žurnalistiku i korespondenci Marie Majerové a obrazy, které jejich prostřednictvím o ženě, ale také o sobě jako ženě vytváří. Práce se soustředí také na to, jakým způsobem vnímali Majerovou osobu, autorku a její tvorbu její současníci v kritikách, recenzích kulturních polemikách. Z genderového pohledu je Majerová přemětem zájmu jako osoba, agitátorka, politička a aktivistka, feministka, matka, spisovatelka,... This thesis explores the work and life of a Czech female writer, Marie Majerová, from a gender point of view. Majerová was well known as a Communist author after WW2; however she is almost unknown as a feminist writer and activist. This study considers the ambiguity of her position from different angles. It primarily concentrates on her contradictory roles as Communist vs feminist and "femme fatale" vs "femme nouvelle", as well as on her relation to female issues. On one hand, she wanted to advocate the position of human kind and their work; no matter what gender they were; on the other hand, she was literally fighting for womens' rights and their own opportunity to express themselves in fiction. Majerová can serve as an example of woman's position in the changing modem world of the first half of the twentieth century. At the same time, she demonstrates an individual approach to literature, politics and life based on the will to change and to influence the world around her. This study focuses on Majerová's fiction, joumalism, correspondence and the image of women, along with her self-created image, as well as on the immediate reception, reviews and critiques and the perception of her work and personality.
