Resumé Cílem diplomové práce "Řečtí a římští reformátoři" je provést reprezentativní shrnutí a komparaci činů nejvýznamnějších politických osobností antického Řecka a Říma, kteří zásadně ovlivnili mocenskou strukturu společnosti, a rovněž i porovnání tehdejších politických systémů jako takových. Zaměřuje se především na konkrétní činy a legislativní, především ústavní, změny iniciované vybranými reformátory, ale věnuje se i jejich osobní motivaci a stručným biografickým údajům. Práce je rozčleněna na dvě hlavní části. První část se zabývá Řeckem, konkrétně Athénami, a sleduje příčiny, vznik, vývoj a vítězství demokracie, ale i problémy s ní spojené a hlavní aktéry tohoto procesu, jmenovitě jejího zakladatele Solona, který nebyl zcela důsledný v potlačování moci bohatých, radikálního demokrata Kleisthena a jeho rozhodné kroky k rovnosti a odstranění zbytků aristokratického režimu, a charismatického Perikla, který, ač obviňován z populismu a demagogie dal rozhodující impuls pro Athénský politický, kulturní a mocenský rozvoj a v jehož době dosáhla demokracie svého vrcholu. Druhá část se soustředí na závěrečné období a definitivní konec římské republiky, která byla navzdory svému názvu vládou oligarchie bohatých a nikoli všech občanů, osobami, které umožnili nebo přímo přispěli k jejímu pádu, konkrétně... The goal of the thesis "The Greek and Roman reformers" is to establish representative summary and comparison of the actions of the most important political figures of ancient Greece and Rome, that significantly influenced the power structure of society, and also a comparison of then political systems as such. It is focused especially on concrete actions and legislative, especially constitutional, changes initiated by the selected reformers, it also deals with personal motivations and a brief biographical informations. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The first part deals with Greece, particularly Athens, and tracks the causes, origin, evolution and the victory of democracy, but also problems associated with it, and the main actors in this process, namely Solon, it's founder, who was not entirely consistent in suppressing the power of the wealthy ones, radical democrat Cleisthenes and his decisive steps towards equality and the removal of the aristocratic regime, and charismatic Pericles, who, though accused of populism and demagogy, gave a decisive impetus to the Athenian political, cultural and power development and within his epoch the democracy has achieved its peak.
