Fragmentace horského tropického lesa v oblasti Kedjom-Keku (Kamerun) Abstrakt V mnoha tropických rozvojových zemích vede tlak rostoucí populace a zvyšující se potřeba zemědělské půdy k výrazné fragmentaci původních lesních porostů. K fragmentaci dochází tehdy, když ze souvislé lesní vegetace vznikne několik menších plošek navzájem oddělených odlišným prostředím. Tento krajinný proces pro mnoho druhů organismů zvyšuje riziko vyhynutí, vystavuje zbytkové plošky lesa změněným abiotickým i biotickým podmínkám a zasahuje do rozptylových a migračních vzorců rostlin i živočichů porušováním konektivity stanoviště. Z druhově a endemicky bohatého horského mlžného lesa v Kedjom-Keku na severozápadě Kamerunu dnes vlivem lidské činnosti zbývají poslední izolované fragmenty. Analýza satelitních snímků oblasti potvrdila vysokou fragmentaci horského tropického lesa. Mezi lety 2003 a 2010 došlo na většině studovaného území k dalšímu úbytku lesní vegetace i vnitřního prostředí plošek. Klíčová slova: fragmentace, tropický les, hodnocení, Kamerun Fragmentation of mountain tropical forest in Kedjom-Keku area (Cameroon) Abstract In many tropical developing countries, the pressure of growing population and increasing demand for agricultural land result in substantial fragmentation of forests. Fragmentation occurs when large continuous forest is broken into a number of smaller patches isolated from each other by a distinct vegetation type. This landscape process increases the probability of extinction for many species, opens up forest patches to altered abiotic and biotic conditions and also affects dispersal and migration patterns of species through destroying habitat connectivity. The last isolated fragments remain from species and endemic rich mountain misty forest in Kedjom-Keku area on the Northwest of Cameroon due to human encroachment. The analysis of satellite images of the area acknowledged high degree of mountain tropical forest fragmentation. There appeared a loss of forest habitat and even a loss of forest core area on the major part of study area between 2003 and 2010. Keywords: fragmentation, tropical forest, assessment, Cameroon
