Cílem mé práce bylo zmapovat rozsah znalostí zdravotnických pracovníků Zdravotnické záchranné služby Ústeckého kraje o škodlivosti aktivního i pasivního kouření na lidský organismus a zjistit jejich zájem o přednášky s touto tematikou. Zdravotničtí pracovníci aktivní kouření z naprosté většiny jako velmi škodlivé uvádějí, ovšem v otázce pasivního kouření již škodlivé účinky tak závažné nevidí. Přes tyto názory, ale o přednášky s tematikou kuřáctví, realizované na pracovišti velký zájem neprojevují. V teoretické části mé práce popisuji historii tabáku, složení tabákového kouře a jeho vliv na lidský organismus. Dále se zabývám možnostmi léčebných metod k odvykání kouření, způsoby prevence a legislativou platnou v České republice sloužící k regulaci kouření. V závěru se snažím definovat charakter a rizikovost práce na zdravotnické záchranné službě. V empirické části, která probíhala formou kvantitativního výzkumu, realizovaného dotazníkovým šetřením zjišťuji postoje a znalosti zdravotnických pracovníků Zdravotnické záchranné služby Ústeckého kraje, tedy lékařů, zdravotnických záchranářů a řidičů ZZS. Rozesláno bylo 230 dotazníků, ke konečnému zpracování bylo použito 157 dotazníků. Z výsledků vyplývá, že kuřáků a příležitostných kuřáků ve všech kategoriích je 40,7 %. The aim of this work was to map the extent of knowledge about active and passive smoking and its effects on human organism between paramedic employees of Emergency Medical Service in the Ústí nad Labem Region, coupled together with an evaluation of their interest in further education in this area. An absolute majority of questioned paramedics says that active smoking is very detrimental to overall health, but the question of passive smoking is not considered such a big issue among them. Lectures about smoking and its effects, realized at their workplaces, are not expected nor demanded. Theoretical part of this thesis gives an account of tobacco history, describes constituents of tobacco smoke and its effects on human organism. Furthermore this work deals with possible methods for quitting the smoking, possible prevention approaches and valid legislation in Czech Republic, dealing with the regulation of smoking. The final theoretical part of this work tries to define characteristics and possible dangers of employment at Emergency Medical Service.
