cze Abstract:
Ke správné identifikaci stereotypů, bude v práci zařazena kapitola o historii Romů na území České republiky a obecně o stereotypech v médiích.This BA is concerned with the media coverage of a particular event by a news agency ČTK and by internet news portals. It deals with an event from 2010 when a boy was brutally attacked by some Romes in the town of Krupka near Teplice. The goal of this thesis is to analyse how the media covered this event in its development, and to learn how it was reported about by the news agency and the news portals (for example, to learn whether the texts were taken over directly from ČTK). For the purpose of this thesis, three the most popular news portals have been chosen - iDnes.cz, Novinky.cz, Aktuálně.cz and then a local one called Teplický deník. This thesis then explores whether the media also mention the existing stereotypes in the connection with this event, and the way how the Romes involved are portrayed. In order to fully describe these existing stereotypes, the thesis also contains a chapter about the history of Romes in the Czech Republic and about stereotypes in general.
