Dana Rakovcová 2022 Název disertační práce: Migrační strategie mezinárodních Ph.D. studentů z rozvojových zemí - longitudinální studie ABSTRAKT V rámci konceptů transnacionalismu a globálního rozvoje hrají migrační rozhodnutí mezinárodních studentů zásadní roli. Tento výzkum zkoumá různorodé faktory ovlivňující migrační rozhodování a strategie Ph.D. studentů, vývoj takových plánů v čase a souvislosti potenciální či reálné návratové migrace v kontextu životního cyklu vysoce vzdělaných migrantů. Výzkum vychází z longitudinální kvalitativní studie provedené v průběhu pěti let (2012-2017) mezi 21 mezinárodními Ph.D. studenty pocházejícími z 16 různých rozvojových zemí a studujícími v Nizozemsku (na univerzitě ve Wageningenu) a čerpá především z hloubkových rozhovorů a následné korespondence mezi výzkumníkem a danými studenty. Výsledky jsou diskutovány v kontextu fází životního cyklu, kulturní změny a ve vztahu k rozvojové problematice a migraci. Závěry výzkumu naznačují, že: 1) Hlavními faktory utvářejícími migrační strategie zkoumaných Ph.D. studentů jsou silné pocity odpovědnosti vůči rodině a odpovědnosti za rozvoj jejich země původu. 2) Migrační rozhodnutí zkoumaných Ph.D. studentů s vlastními dětmi bývají vedena odpovědností vůči institucím a rodině, s poměrně pravděpodobnou trvalejší návratovou migrací; u... This research examines different factors influencing PhD students' migration plans and strategies, their development over time, and the circumstances of their potential or real return within the changing life course context of the highly educated migrants. The research is based on a longitudinal qualitative study conducted over five years (2012-2017) among 21 international PhD students coming from 16 different developing countries, studying at the Wageningen University in the Netherlands; and it draws mainly on in-depth interviews and follow-up correspondence. Results are discussed in the context of the life course, a cultural shift and the migration development nexus. Conclusions suggest that: 1) Strong feelings of responsibility towards both their family and the development of their country of origin are leading factors shaping the migration strategies of the examined PhD students. 2) Migration decisions of the interviewed PhD students with children tend to be strongly driven by responsibility towards their families...
