Předmětem předkládané práce jsou představy o správné podobě rodiny a osvětové snahy, které měly, pokud možno co nejširší veřejnost přesvědčit, aby svůj rodinný život těmto představám přizpůsobila. Mezi základní cíle práce tak patří snaha ukázat: 1. Jaký byl obsah těchto představ. 2. Jaký byl jejich rozsah, tedy do čeho všeho si dovolili autoři těchto představ / jejich propagátoři lidem mluvit. 3. Jaké byly způsoby zmíněných osvětových snah. Na jaké skupiny obyvatel měla osvěta cílit. 4. Samotné zdůvodnění, proč tyto snahy vznikaly. V čem byly hledány nedostatky tehdejších rodin. Proč měla být rodina reformována. Práce se nezabývá tématem od jeho předpokládaného vzniku, tedy pravděpodobně od doby, kdy proběhly první pokusy rodinu a její účel definovat, ale zabývá se především obdobím od poslední čtvrtiny 19. století po druhou polovinu třicátých let 20. století. V českých zemích představuje toto období rozmach osvětových snah ve věci rodiny a taky je to období aktivního působení T. G. Masaryka, jehož názory na správnou podobu rodiny a také propagace těchto názorů, tvoří pomyslnou páteř této práce. Důraz na Masarykovo uchopení tématu je dán předpokladem, že na něm lze toto téma představit v celé své šíři. Tím samozřejmě nelze říct, že by sám obsáhl všechny představy o tom, co je správná rodina a... This study investigates and describes ideas of the proper form of family life and activism in this matter - efforts to persuade general public to adopt these ideas. This corresponds to the choice of the main goals of the study: 1. Show what the content of these ideas was. 2. Show the range of topics covered by the authors of these ideas. 3. Show the manners of this activism. What media these activists usually used, how they fought or cooperated with rival activists and who was "target" of their enlightenment efforts. 4. Answer the question "Why did these efforts arise at all?" Why there was a feeling that family is in crisis and in need of reform. The feeling that family is in crisis probably has its origin in the days of the first attempts to define the family. However, this study does not focus on the topic from its presumed origin, but from the last quarter of the nineteenth century to the second half of the 1930s. This period represents a time of boom of these enlightenment efforts in the Czech lands and it's also time of T. G. Masaryk. His ideas of the proper form of family life and activism in this matter form the backbone of this work.
