Kost je tvrdá mineralizovaná struktura tvořící oporu těla. Její histologické uspořádání tvoří kostní buňky (osteoblasty, osteocyty, osteoklasty) a mezibuněčná hmota. Uspořádání kosti se u obratlovců liší. Můžeme rozlišovat i kosti, které se u lidí nevyskytují. Jako kost acelulární. Nebo kosti, které se u lidí vyskytující jen málo - jako kosti pneumatizované. Pro výzkum lidské kosti se používají různé zvířecí modely a každý má své typické využití. The histological arrangement consists of bone cells (osteoblasts, osteocytes, osteoclasts) and extracellular matrix. Arrangement of bone in vertebrates is different. We can distinguish the bones that occur in humans. As acellular bone. Or bones that in humans, occurring only a few - such as pneumatized bones.
