Tato práce se zabývá psychickým utrpením v díle dánské spisovatelky Tove Ditlevsenové. Nejprve rozebírá fenomén "šíleného génia" a pracuje se studiemi zkoumajícími souvislost mezi kreativitou a duševní chorobou. Dále představuje některé literární žánry, ve kterých díla zobrazující psychickou nemoc mohou vznikat, a nakonec se zaměřuje na analýzu dvou románů Ditlevsenové, Ansigterne a Vilhelms værelse. This thesis analyses the theme of mental suffering in the works of the Danish writer Tove Ditlevsen. First it looks at the phenomenon of "the mad genius" and works with studies researching the correlation between creativity and mental illness. Then it introduces some of the literary genres mental illness can be depicted in and finally it focuses on the analysis of Ditlevsen's novels Ansigterne and Vilhelms værelse.
