Diplomová práce se zabývá kyselinou listovou a jejími preventivními účinky pro zdraví člověka. Kyselina listová má v lidském organismu mnoho důležitých funkcí a obzvláště velký význam má v období těhotenství. Je nepostradatelná pro správný vývoj plodu a její dostatečný příjem je prevencí vzniku závažných vrozených vývojových vad, jako jsou defekty neurální trubice, předčasného porodu, potratu a dalších těhotenských patologií. Zvýšenou potřebu tohoto vitaminu není snadné naplnit běžnou stravou. Je tedy doporučeno užívat kyselinu listovou ve formě doplňků stravy (v dávce 400-600 µg/den) v průběhu těhotenství a alespoň měsíc před plánovaným početím. Z těchto důvodů je nezbytné zaměřit se na podporu primární prevence ohledně užívání kyseliny listové, a to nejlépe u všech fertilních žen. Kyselina listová má také zásadní roli v krvetvorbě a hlavním projevem jejího deficitu je megaloblastická anémie. Kyselina listová bývá dále spojována s prevenci kardiovaskulárních a nádorových onemocnění a ovlivnění vývoje kognitivních funkcí. Praktická část práce byla zaměřena na sledování saturace těhotných žen tímto vitaminem. Práce obsahuje laboratorní analýzu obsahu metabolitu kyseliny listové 5-methyltetrahydrofolátu (5-MTHF) v moči těhotných žen s cílem zjistit jeho obsah a zhodnotit, zda jsou dostatečně... This thesis is focused on folic acid and its preventive effects on human health. Folic acid has many important functions in the human body and is especially important during pregnancy. It is essential for the proper development of the fetus and its adequate intake is the prevention of serious congenital malformations, such as neural tube defects, premature birth, abortion and other pathologies. The increased need for this vitamin is not easy to supplement with a regular diet. It is therefore recommended to take it in the form of food supplements (400-600 µg/day) during pregnancy and at least one month before the planned conception. For these reasons, it is necessary to focus on supporting the primary prevention of folic acid use, preferably in all fertile women. Folic acid also plays a crucial role in hematopoiesis and the main manifestation of its deficiency is megaloblastic anemia. Folic acid is further associated with the prevention of cardiovascular and cancer diseases and influencing the development of cognitive functions. The practical part of this thesis was focused on monitoring the saturation of pregnant women with this vitamin.
