Britská královská rodina je tradiční institucí, která má na společenské a politické dění ve Spojeném království Velké Británie nezanedbatelný vliv. Právě proto jsou skandály jejích členů ostře sledovány médii. Tato bakalářská práce popisuje mediální obraz jedné z největších kauz týkajících se britské královské rodiny současnosti ve vybraných britských online denících různých zaměření. Pro rozhodnutí vysoce postaveného člena prince Harryho, vévody ze Sussexu, a jeho ženy Meghan se vžilo označení "Megxit". Práce krátce vymezuje vybraná média, pojmy a představuje hlavní aktéry kauzy. Ve výzkumné části za pomoci kombinace kvalitativních a kvantitativních metod analýzy popisuje způsob a intenzitu, se kterou bylo o kauze hovořeno ve vybraných mainstreamových médiích v porovnání s oficiálními informacemi poskytnutými tiskovými mluvčími členů britské královské rodiny v prvních dvou týdnech po první tiskové zprávě informující veřejnost o rozhodnutí páru instituci opustit. Sledováno je také emoční zabarvení publikovaných článků a dodržování zásad Editorského Kodexu IPSO. The British Royal Family is a traditional institution that has a significant influence on social and political events in the United Kingdom. That is why the scandals of its members are closely monitored by the media. This Bachelor thesis describes the media image of one of the biggest scandals involving the British royal family of today in selected British online newspapers of different orientation. The term 'Megxit' has been adopted for this decision of Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan. The paper briefly defines the selected media, terms and introduces the main parties involved in the case. In the research part, using a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods of analysis, it discusses the manner and intensity with which the scandal was covered in the selected mainstream media in comparison with the official information provided by spokespeople of the members of the British Royal Family in the first two weeks after the first press release informing the public of the couple's decision to leave the institution. The emotional tone of published articles and adherence to the IPSO Editors' Code of Practice are also observed.
