Bakalářská práce "Pás a stezka v Ugandě: případ CEFC" se zabývá tématem působení Čínské lidové republiky v Africe. Konkrétně na případu korupce vysoce postavených politiků v Čadu a Ugandě, z něhož byl v USA usvědčen Patrick Ho, generální tajemník neziskového křídla CEFC, spadající pod nominálně soukromou čínskou společnost CEFC China. Cílem práce je v první části představit čínsko-africké vztahy a působení Číny v Africe v širším kontextu a v druhé části uvést společnost CEFC a následně popsat korupční případ Patricka Ho. Jádrem práce je na jedné straně popis vztahů mezi CEFC a oficiální čínskou politikou, které spočívají v personálních vazbách a propagací oficiálního narativu ČLR, zejména zahraničně politické iniciativy Pás a stezka. Na druhé straně pak popis korupce afrických politiků představitelem neziskového křídla CEFC. Práce, jakožto případová studie se pokusí přispět do diskurzu o působení Číny v Africe a rozborem konkrétního případu doplnit obecnější literaturu k tématu. Specifically, it focuses on a corruption case of high-level politicians in Chad and Uganda. Patrick Ho, a general secretary of China Energy Fund Committee which is a subsidiary NGO of a Chinese private company CEFC China, was convicted of orchestrating the bribery case. The first part introduces the context of China-Africa relations and Chinese activities in Africa, and the second part describes the CEFC company and the corruption case of Patrick Ho. The core of the work lies on one hand in the analysis of the connections between CEFC and PRC's official politics, consisting of personnel ties and active promotion of the PRC official narrative, especially the Belt and Road Initiative. The other focus is the description of the corruption case. The thesis offers a specific case study to supplement the more general literature on the Chinese involvement in Africa.
