Tématem této práce je komparace ekonomického myšlení Aloise Rašína a Karla Engliše. Alois Rašín a Karel Engliš byli nejvýznamnějšími národohospodáři první Československé republiky. Oba dva zasedli v prvních letech republiky celkem třikrát na pozici ministra financí. Rašín byl ministrem od 14. listopadu 1918 do 8. července 1919 a potom 7. října 1922 - 18. února 1923. Karel Engliš zastával ministerský úřad, v námi zkoumaném období, od 25. května 1920 do 21. března 1921. Bohužel Alois Rašín se stal v roce obětí atentátu, a z toho důvod se v práci věnujeme pouze období mezi lety 1918 a 1923. Nejprve se krátce zaměříme na jejich raná léta, podíváme se, jak se z nich stali přední čeští národohospodáři a poté se přesuneme k hlavnímu těžišti této práce, kterým budou jejich vzájemné stýkání a potýkání, shody a rozpory v jejich ekonomických názorech. Budeme se soustředit především na otázky: měnové odluky, rozpočtů, budování československé koruny a politiky deflace. Alois Rašín and Karel Engliš were the most influential economist of the First Czechoslovak republic. They became three times the Finance minister. Rašín was a minister 14th November to 8th July 1919 and after that from 7th October 1922 to 18th February 1923. Engliš was minister between 25th May 1920 and 21st March 1921. Unfortunately, Alois Rašín was mortally wounded in the assassination, and that is why this thesis follows only a period from 1918 to 1923. Firstly it focuses their early life, and we try to answer the question: How they became the most influential economist of the First Czechoslovak republic? The central part of this thesis focus one's attention on their agreement and disagreement about currency separation, budgets, construction of the Czechoslovak crown and deflation.
