Součástí této bakalářské práce je překlad části šesté kapitoly populárně naučné publikace Strange Glow: The Story of Radiation amerického profesora radiologie Timothyho J. Jorgensena. Odborný komentář ve druhé části práce obsahuje překladatelskou analýzu výchozího a cílového textu a následně se věnuje překladatelským problémům a vzniklým posunům. Nejdůležitější součástí překladu tohoto typu textu bylo zejména řešení překladatelských problémů na úrovni lexika, ale také vyrovnávání presupozic amerického a českého čtenáře. Jorgensen, professor of Radiation Medicine at Georgetown University. The commentary in the second part contains source- and target-text analysis and an overview of translation problems and translation shifts. The most important observations were made concerning the lexis and the presuppositions of both the American and the Czech reader.
