Cílem této bakalářské práce je přeložit část osmé kapitoly z knihy The Invisible History of the Human Race od Christine Kenneallyové. Vybraná kapitola pojednává o tom, jak výzkum DNA ve Velké Británii přispěl k objasnění její historie. Teoretická část zahrnuje analýzu výchozího textu, popis zvolené překladatelské metody, analýzu překladatelských problémů a typologii použitých překladatelských postupů a posunů. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to translate a part of chapter eight from The Invisible History of the Human Race by Christine Kenneally. The selected chapter discusses how DNA research conducted in Great Britain contributed to better understanding of its history. The theoretical part consists of the source text analysis, the description of the selected translation method, the translation problems analysis and the typology of the translation procedures and shifts applied.
