Jádrem památkového postupu je praktický návod na zhotovení tzv. newprintů - nových analogových fotografií – černobílých bromostříbrných pozitivů (zvětšenin anebo kontaktních kopií) z originálních historických negativů. Předpokladem porozumění postupu je znalost práce v temné komoře. Památkový postup je určen veřejným i soukromým sbírkám a institucím, které usilují o prezentaci negativů již nežijícího fotografa formou pozitivu, blížícího se dílu autora v co nejbližší možné míře. Postup byl vypracován na specifické sbírce negativů Josefa Sudka s náměty reprodukcí uměleckých děl a architektury. Součástí textu jsou teoretická zdůvodnění postupu i ukázky jeho praktického užití. The core of the conservation procedure is in the method for making so-called “new prints” – new analogue photographs – black and white gelatine silver-bromide prints (blow-ups or contact copies) of the original historical negatives. The prerequisite for understanding the procedure is knowledge of dark room work. This original procedure is intended for private collections and institutions which aim to present negatives of a deceased photographer in a way which is as close to the author’s original intention as is currently possible. The procedure was developed on a specific collection of Josef Sudek’s negatives with the topic of reproductions of art works and architecture. Theoretical justification for the procedure, as well as examples of its practical outcomes, are also part of the text.
