Památkový postup představuje používané způsoby identifikace fotografických negativů na polymerních podložkách, zejména na bázi nitrátu a acetátu celulózy, a závislost volby konkrétních technik na různých faktorech, jako jsou velikost a fyzický stav sbírky, vybavenost pracoviště, finanční a časové možnosti nebo též zkušenosti identifikujících osob. Pro svou nespornou informační hodnotu je v památkovém postupu vyzdvihován pilotní průzkum, který poskytuje první představu o materiálovém složení a fyzickém stavu sbírky a následně pomáhá s volbou identifikačních metod aplikovaných při zkoumání celé sbírky. Ve druhé části se metodika věnuje problematice dlouhodobého uložení negativů, srovnává doporučované standardy s obvyklými možnostmi menších institucí a navrhuje vhodná či alespoň přijatelná řešení. The conservation procedure presents the methods of identifying photographic negatives on polymer supports , especially by means of a cellulose nitrate base and cellulose acetate base, and the choice of various techniques on the basis of various factors, such as the collection’s size and physical condition, the workspace’s available equipment, the financial and time availability or the experiences of the identifying persons. For their indisputable informational value, the conservationist approach favors pilot survey which provides the initial idea about the collection’s material and physical composition and then helps with the choice of identification methods applied during the research phase. In the second part, the methodology focuses on the issues associated with long-term storage of the negatives and compares their recommended standards with the actual means at the disposal of minor institutions. It also proposes fitting, or at least acceptable, solutions.
