Moderní technologie zasahují do všech aspektů lidského života a oblast překladu není výjimkou. Rozvoj překladových technologií, ať už se jedná o počítačem podporovaný překlad (CAT), nebo strojový překlad (MT), způsobuje posuny profesních kompetencí a výrazné změny v podobě práce lidských překladatelů, mezi nimiž panuje nejistota ohledně budoucnosti jejich profese. Z nedostatečné spolupráce mezi překladateli a vývojáři překladových technologií navíc pramení nespokojenost s překladovými nástroji, pohrdání strojovým překladem či vzájemné nepochopení. Cílem této diplomové práce je proto podpořit dialog mezi profesionálními překladateli a odborníky na překladové technologie. Nejprve je provedeno dotazníkové šetření mezi překladateli a jeho výsledky jsou následně konzultovány s odborníky na překladové technologie. Potvrzuje se mimo jiné, že nevyhnutelné změny rozhodně nemusí znamenat zánik profese, ale spíše její transformaci. Navíc se objevují různé možnosti spolupráce mezi překladateli a vývojáři. Aby však mohla být spolupráce co nejefektivnější, bude nutné, aby se všichni zainteresovaní více snažili porozumět pohledu druhé strany. Modern technology affects all aspects of human life, and translation is not an exception. The development of translation technology -computer-assisted translation (CAT) and machine translation (MT)- is causing shifts in professional competencies and significant changes in the work of human translators, who are concerned about the future of their profession. Furthermore, insufficient collaboration between translators and technology developers leads to dissatisfaction with translation tools, contempt for machine translation, and mutual misunderstandings. The aim of this master's thesis is to promote the dialogue between professional translators and translation technology experts. First, a questionnaire survey is conducted among translators; then, its results are consulted with experts in translation technology. It is confirmed that the inevitable changes do not mean that the profession will become obsolete, but rather transformed. In addition, there are various possibilities for collaboration between translators and developers. However, for this collaboration to be as effective as possible, it will be necessary to address the differences between the views of both sides.
