The main aim of the bachelor thesis is to analyse total mortality and selected causes of death in Czechia and Slovakia, based at regional level. It means a comparison of their development for each region in both countries. The analyse is monitored from 2001 to 2018. The first part of the analysis is devoted to the analysis of the total mortality using various indicators as a life expectancy at birth and life expectancy at 65 years. Also, this part is finished by decomposition method which complements the results of life expectancy at birth. Following the development of total mortality, second part of the analysis is about selected causes of death. Only the diseases that are most numerous in both countries were chosen for this part of the thesis. In terms of total mortality, the main result is that mortality rates are improving in the Czechia and Slovakia, which is reflected in increasing of life expectancy. As part of the analysis of mortality from selected causes of death, it was found that during the observed period there was a decrease in the intensity of mortality from the category of diseases of the circulatory system. The trend from mortality in cancer is slightly different, because while the intensity of mortality is declining in the Czechia, in Slovakia the trend is very slow for men and essentially... Hlavným cieľom bakalárskej práce je analýza vývoja celkovej úmrtnosti a vybraných príčin smrti v Česku a na Slovensku, a to na regionálnej úrovni. Tým sa z hľadiska tejto práce rozumie najmä porovnanie ich vývoja v oboch krajinách, a to na úrovni samosprávnych krajov. Predmetu práce z časového hľadiska zodpovedá vývoj od roku 2001 do roku 2018. Pre analýzu celkovej úmrtnosti sú použité ukazovatele nádej dožitia (stredná dĺžka života) pri narodení a v presnom veku 65 rokov. Rozbor celkovej úmrtnosti je zakončený analýzou príspevkov vekových skupín k zmene nádeje dožitia pri narodení. V nadväznosti na vývoj celkovej úmrtnosti sú následne v druhej časti predmetom rozboru vybrané príčiny smrti, pričom vybrané boli tie príčiny úmrtí, ktoré majú najpočetnejšie zastúpenie v oboch porovnávaných štátoch. Z hľadiska celkovej úmrtnosti je hlavným výsledkom zistenie, že v Česku aj na Slovensku je možné hovoriť o zlepšovaní úmrtnostných pomerov, čo sa prejavuje najmä na zvyšovaní nádeje dožitia. V rámci analýzy vybraných príčin smrti bolo zistené, že v priebehu sledovaného obdobia došlo k poklesu intenzity úmrtnosti na kategóriu chorôb obehovej sústavy. Pri nádorových ochoreniach je zistený trend mierne odlišný, pretože kým v Česku dochádza k poklesu intenzity úmrtnosti, tak na Slovensku je trend poklesu v prípade mužov...
