Východiska: Celosvětový trend stárnutí populace s sebou přináší nové výzvy, z nichž některé jsou spojené s důrazem na to věnovat vyšší pozornost duševnímu zdraví seniorů. V souvislosti s duševním zdravím populace seniorů je zmiňována problematika jejich užívání alkoholu. Užívání alkoholu je v rámci populace seniorů považováno za faktor vedoucí k možným negativním zdravotním důsledkům. Senioři tvoří mimo obyvatele měst i početné obyvatelstvo venkova, přičemž v rámci venkovského prostředí lze nalézt specifika a odlišnosti jak v životě v tomto prostředí, tak i užívání alkoholu. Cíle: Cílem kvalitativní práce bylo dozvědět se prostřednictvím výpovědí seniorů z malé venkovské obce o jejich subjektivním hodnocení jejich užívání alkoholu a přispět tak k poznání problematiky o užívání alkoholu u seniorů. Metody: V měsících červenec a srpen roku 2019 byly uskutečněny polostrukturované rozhovory se 14 seniory z malé venkovské obce doplněné screeningovým dotazníkem AUDIT. Výzkumný soubor tvořící 5 mužů a 9 žen starých 65 a více let byl vybrán metodou prostého účelového výběru. Data byla zpracována metodou tématické analýzy. Výsledky: Výsledky práce poukázaly na témata týkající se počátků užívání alkoholu, užívání v mládí, dospělosti a téma současného užívání, které bylo spjaté s rizikovostí užívání a s... Background: The global trend of population ageing causes in new challenges, one of them is a wider dedication to the mental health of the elderly. In line with the mental health of the elderly the alcohol consumption issues among this group are still in place and those are one of the crucial factors that might causes negative impact on the health of the elderly. There is a large group of seniors in the Czech population living in the cities however numerous groups of the seniors still live also in the countryside where the living is very different to the one in the cities and there are also many specifics in alcohol consumption among those living in the countryside. Aims: The qualitative study aims to learn about the subjective evaluation of the alcohol consumption among the elderly in a small village community through the deep interviews and thus enriches the contemporary knowledge of the alcohol consumption level among the elderly. Methods: Semi-structured interviews complemented by the AUDIT screening questionnaire were executed within the 14 elderly in a small village during July - August 2019.
