(česky) Práce se zabývá cenzurou v poválečném Japonsku. Zkoumá její dopad na jednotlivé oblasti kultury a faktory, které od započetí okupace roku 1945 až do jejího ukončení roku 1952 ovlivňovaly podobu cenzury. Mezi zkoumané oblasti patří nejen reforma školství (především učebnic historie) a cenzura médií, které byly klíčové pro potlačení militarismu a ultranacionalismu, ale též dopad na filmovou tvorbu, literaturu a divadlo. Důraz je kladen na změny v politice Okupační správy a USA, které ovlivňovaly formu cenzury a povahu materiálů jež byly cenzurovány. Mezi rozebírané aspekty tak patří nejenom povaha konkrétních materiálů, jež byly cenzurovány, ale též přístup cenzorů k samotnému provádění cenzury a jejich obsahu. (in English): This thesis deals with the censorship in post-war Japan. It examines the impact on various areas of culture and the factors that influenced the form of censorship from the beginning of the occupation in 1945 until its end in 1952. Examined areas not only include reform of education (especially of history textbooks) and censorship of media, which were key to the suppression of militarism and ultra-nationalism, but also the impact on filmmaking, literature and theater. Emphasis is placed on changes in the policies of the Occupation Administration and the United States, which have affected the form of censorship and the nature of the materials that have been censored. Discussed aspects include not only the nature of specific materials that have been censored, but also the approach of censors to the actual implementation of censorship and their content.
