The introduction focuses on the life of this exceptional author. The terminology of miraculous terms, the reasons for their existence and the history of their beginnings are explained in more detail. The second part outlines the characters that are the centre of the work, and the third chapter deals with medieval symbolism such as the understanding of the human body, or the understanding of religious minorities and how these ideologies manifest themselves in Berceo's texts. Subsequently, the thesis describes the poetic topography, that is the places where miracles take place and by what literary means the author creates them. The whole thesis constantly creates an imaginary boundary between miracle and magic, which is the essential duality of all chapters. Key words Medieval literature, magic, miracle, Berceo, religion
