Příspěvek zaměřuje svoji pozornost na analýzu vybraných problematik, které úzce souvisí s fungováním veřejné správy na úrovni malých municipalit na území České republiky. Studovaná skupina byla definována jako obce do 1 000 obyvatel – jedná se tedy o municipality, které by již v současnosti - dle aktuálního zákona o obcích č. 128/2000 Sb. - nemohly být vytvořeny. Největší pozornost je přitom věnována obzvláště otázkám souvisejícím s rozdělením kompetencí a s některými vybranými aspekty problematiky fungování malých tuzemských municipalit. V rámci příspěvku jsou rovněž představeny i některé nejdůležitější poznatky a závěry vyplývající z již realizovaného výzkumu. The contribution is focused on the analysis of the selected issues, which are connected with the functioning of the public administration at the level of the small municipalities in the Czech Republic. The studied group of municipalities was defined as the municipalities up to 1 000 inhabitants – it means there are included the municipalities which presently could not be created according to the conditions of the Act No. 128/2000 Coll. on the municipal system. The biggest attention is especially paid to the issues connected with the division of the competences and with some selected aspects of the municipal functioning system. Moreover there are introduced some important knowledge and conclusions resulting of the realised surveys.
