Ve stati je nastíněn geologický a geomorfologický vývoj údolí řeky Desné a jižní části Hrubého Jeseníku, podány údaje o fungování přečerpávací vodní nádrže Dlouhé Stráně a působení extrémních procesech na svazích údolí i v korytě řeky Desné- povodních. An outline of geomorphic division, geological setting and landforms development is given focused namely to the valley of the Desná R. and southern part of the Hrubý Jeseník Mts. Then the data on the functioning of re-pumping reservoir Dlouhé Stráně and activity of extremal hillslope processes and historical floods in the channel of Desná River.
