Studie interpretuje Šaldovu ranou prózu Analýza (1891), zaměřuje se především na první část, v níž je naturalistická narace převracena v symbolistický text radikální metaforizací jazyka, která vede k ztrátě reference a k významovému zatemnění. Experimentálnost Šaldova textu lze popsat v kategoriích manýrismu jako intelektuální konstrukci iracionality pomocí záměrné kombinace jazykových jednotek významově co nejprotilehlejších. Manýristicky je pak zobrazena i hlavní postava, jež je sestavena z anorganických předmětů a jednoduchých organismů – obdobně jako Arcimboldovy obrazy. The article interprets the early prose of F. X. Šalda "Analýza" (1891) and focuses mostly on it’s first part, in which its naturalistic narrative changes into a symbolistic text by radically metaphoric language. The literary language thus loses the power of reference and the significance of the text becomes ambivalent. On the one hand the experimental form of the text can be defined in terms of mannerism as an intellectual construct of irrationality, on the other as a combination of language units, semantically most opposite. The main character is depicted in mannerist way as well, being formed together from inorganic objects and simple components - similarly as the paintings by Arcimboldo.
