Vztah romského etnika ke sportu je dosud nezkoumaný sociální jev. Příspěvek je založen na analýze dvou sociologických šetřeních zaměřených na romské výkonnostní sportovce a na romskou mládež. Text poukazuje na nárůst důležitosti sportovní aktivity v životě mladší generace Romů a na vliv sociálních aktérů na utváření tohoto vztahu. Dále se zabývá vnímáním sportovní aktivity mezi romskou mládeží, hodnocením jejích přínosů, ale i jejích negativních efektů a omezeních. This paper is based on analyze of two sociological studies done among professional sportsman and Roma youths. This piece points at the raising importance of sport in the daily life of young generation. There is also mentioned the big impact of social actors on setting up the positive attitude to sport. The article is discussing the perception of sport activity, its evaluation from the minority point of view. The paper is also considering the limits of sport activity and discriminatory conditions.
