por Abstract:
[eng][cze] Piropo, the English equivalent of which is "street remark", is a sociolinguistic phenomenon. Only few works have been written about it, although it is a universal phenomenon. The Portuguese piropo differs fundamentally from both its Spanish and English counterparts. It is part of a continuum of evaluation sequences, which results in its great variability. It is usually authored by a man and aimed at a woman, but these roles have begun to shift recently. It performs an evaluative, gender-oriented and controlling function. Its appeal consists in the stylistic means and references to the culture in which it occurs. It is very common in Portuguese, not so much in Czech, although it doubtless exists. The fact that there is no name for this phenomenon in Czech as yet is proof enough of its indistinctiveness. Má funkci hodnotící, gendrující a kontrolní.
