Strnad zahradní (Emberiza hortulana) je ptákem otevřené zemědě ls ké krajiny, jehož počty v posledníc h desetiletíc h výrazně poklesly, a to především v zemích západní a střední Evropy. Cíle m našeho výzkum u v roce 2015 bylo zjis t it , kde se v České republice nacházejí poslední populace tohoto kritic ky ohrože né h o druhu a také k jakému biotopu se tento pták u nás váže. Celkově bylo zkontrolová no devět oblastí o rozloze 925 km2. Zaznamená ny přitom byly dvě hlavní oblasti výskytu tohoto druhu (povrchové doly v severníc h Čechách a zemědělská krajina Slezska ) a dvě malé izolova né popula ce ve středníc h Čechác h. Naopak kontroly v některých tradičníc h oblastech jeho výskytu (České středoh oř í , Hovoransko-Če jkovic ko a Javornic ko) byly negativní. Dohroma dy bylo napočítá no 75-79 zpíva jíc íc h samců. Náš odhad velikosti české populace za rok 2015 činí 75-100 zpíva jíc íc h samců, což značí oproti poslednímu mapová ní v letech 2001-2003 další populač ní pokles. Biotopové preference strna dů zahradníc h byly zkoumá ny ve dvou prostorovýc h škálách a došlo k porovná n í biotopů mezi zemědělskou krajinou a krajinou povrchov ýc h dolů. Náš výzku m poukazuje na výraznou biotopovou flexibilitu druhu a vazbu k vysoké heteroge n itě území, pokryvnosti holou půdou a nízké pokryvnosti urbánními... The Ortolan Bunting (Emberiza hortulana) is a farmland bird species, whose population size has declined very sharply in recent decades, especia ll y in Western and Central European countries. The aim of our study in 2015 was to record where the last populations of this critically endangered species in the Czech Republic are located and also what habitat the species associated with. We examined nine areas (925 km2 in total). Two main areas of occurrence (surface mines in northern Bohemia and farmland landscape of Silesia) and two small isolated populations in central Bohemia were registered for this species. In contrast, observations in some traditional areas of its occurence (České středohoří in northern Bohemia, Hovorany-Čejkovice region in southe r n Moravia and Javoricko region in Silesia) were negative. Altogether, we counted 75-79 singing males. Our estimation of the size of the Czech population in 2015 is 75-100 singing males, which indicates further population decline compared to the last mapping in 2001-2003.
