Cílem této diplomové práce je potvrdit, či vyvrátit otázku, zda má politika Fedu negativní dopady na hospodářství spojených států. V první kapitole je zkoumán vliv centrálního bankovnictví na hospodářství prismatem rakouské teorie. Cílem této kapitoly je odpovědět na otázku, zda je centrální bankovnictví slučitelné s udržitelným ekonomickým růstem a zda nejsou ekonomické výkyvy v podobě hospodářských cyklů zapříčiněny právě manipulací centrálních bank s úrokovou sazbou. Cílem druhé kapitoly je zhodnotit vliv politiky Fedu na americkou ekonomiku mezi lety 1987 a 2016 a srovnat dopady této politiky na rozdílné společenské třídy. This thesis aims at discovering whether actions of the Federal Reserve System have a negative impact on the U.S. economy. The first chapter considers theoretical economic impacts of central banking through a prism of the Austrian School of Economics. This chapter aims at finding out whether central banking is compatible with a sustainable economic growth and whether business cycles are not caused by interest rate manipulation by central banks. The purpose of the second chapter is to assess the influence of the Fed on the American economy between 1987 and 2016 and compare impacts of actions of the Fed on different social classes.
