Cílem této práce je najít příčinu odlišných postojů ČSSD a SMER-SD k evropské migrační krizi. Zatímco ČSSD projevuje určitou míru solidarity vůči migrantům, SMER-SD zaujímá přísně odmítavý postoj v této problematice. Teoretická část práce se zaměřuje na principy a historický vývoj ideologie sociálně demokratických stran jakožto základní společné východisko obou politických stran. K demonstraci postojů jednotlivých stran jsou použity oficiálně publikované dokumenty, tisková prohlášení či výstupy v médiích a zároveň prezentované názory vybraných členů stran. K nalezení konečné příčiny odlišnosti postojů stran jsou v praktické části analyzovány čtyři vybrané nezávislé proměnné související s migrací. Mezi sebou jsou porovnávány struktury voličů zkoumaných stran; podíly cizinců na území států těchto stran; míra veřejného mínění v daných zemích vůči migraci; minulost, tradice a přístup k migraci v historii obou stran. The aim of this thesis is to find the cause of different attitudes of CSSD and SMER-SD towards the European migration crisis. While the CSSD displays a certain degree of solidarity towards migrants, SMER-SD takes a strict refusal attitude in this issue. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the principles and historical development of the ideology of social democratic parties, as the basic common basis of both political parties. To demonstrate the attitudes of each party, official documents, press releases, or outputs in the media are used, as well as the views of selected party members. In order to find the ultimate cause of differences in parties attitudes, four selected independent variables related to migration are analyzed in the practical part. These are structures of voters of the surveyed parties; shares of foreigners in the countries of these parties; the level of public opinion on migration in those countries; history, tradition and access to migration in the history of both political parties.
